Bad experience from start to finish. Avoid this hotel at all costs. We felt unsafe from the moment we arrived to leaving. Constantly checking over our shoulders and feeling uncomfortable. Google the area & read the articles and you will see why. Any positives with this hotel do not make up for feeling unsafe and uneasy. I would recommend staying on the opposite side of the lake where the atmosphere is totally different, a lot more restaurants, bars, cafe, shops and generally nicer area. I have never experienced anything like the street where this hotel is. Constant police presence, men in groups wearing balaclavas. Many (15 to 20 at one time) prostitues lined up outside at all hours of the day. You feel as though you cannot make eye contact with anyone from fear. If the above wasn’t enough, the staff are incredibly unfriendly. Over 5 days, the staff members said 1 word… our room number. The staff look unhappy & as though they do not want to be there. I asked when the deposit would be refunded and received a shrug of the receptionist shoulders. Whilst 9 times out of 10 I am used to paying a deposit when checking in to a hotel, I was surprised to see £100 taken from my bank account 24 hours prior to check in. An email from the hotel confirmed this was a holding fee and would not be taken from my account but having checked out, the funds did not return to me for over a week. I have also seen a similar review saying funds were not sent back for over 2 weeks. The hotel is decorated to a good standard but rooms are extremely small with limited amenities. There are no hooks for coats, no bath robes, the sink and shower are in the bedroom area itself and not walled off. The shower is not frosted glass so you would only feel comfortable sharing the room with a partner. Would not return & would not recommend. I urge no female travellers to stay here either!

The hotel is marvellous!!! The service is excellent. Everyone is friendly and helpful. The rooms are great too. They are clean and comfortable. The restaurant and bar are amazing too. Great place for delicious food and awesome cocktails.

Staff and facilities are fantastic The location is close to the station and close to the lake, sadly the street it’s located on is a red light distract which only becomes clear at night. The staff are very accommodating The bar, reception and spa are well maintained and very clean. Sadly the rooms need deep cleaning and lack maintenance. My room had a faulty shower seal so the floor flooded into the room when showering. There were also hairs everywhere, akward spots behind doors clearly had not been cleaned and there were makeup stains on the wall.

Location: The hotel is 10 minutes by train via the Geneva airport. Remember before you walk out of the airport you can get a free 80 minutes train ticket. Otherwise, pay 2 euros. The hotel is very close to the main train station and the tram stop. It is literally around a 10 minute slow walk. This is very useful to get to the United Nations (10 min by tram) and CERN (25 minutes by tram). It is also about a 10 minute walk from the main bus terminal too. Great for individuals who want to visit Annecy which I recommend. The walking distance to the old town is around 25 minutes but take the waterbus which is quicker. This will cut the journey to a good 15 minutes. The location to supermarkets is around 10 minutes. Hotel: Upon check-in you are greeted by multilingual and professional staff. Ignore the famous g map as they will take you to the back entrance. Just a warning. The staff were very friendly. The room is okay for the size and price. Inside the room is plenty of usb-A ports but this is a bit useless now since the transition to usb-C. There are power sockets next to the bedside. This bit becomes interesting. The toilet is separate from the shower room so no fighting. The shower is powerful but just a word of warning. It's see-through. If you are sharing with a friend or family member this is a warning. The sink is in the room. You get free coffee, green tea, and camomile tea with milk and biscuits. No need for shower gel and shampoo. This is included. There is a hairdryer. The safe does not work for some reason. The bed was comfortable. Now, for some negatives. The room was warm and you could not cool it down without opening the windows. So remember to bring earbuds as it gets noisy when opening the windows. You can open it safely without someone coming in. What else!? Oh yes. For some reason this room did not come with free robe and slippers so you can go to the pool, jacuzzi, gym and sauna. Strange but you can get changed downstairs but the lockers don't work. The pool and jacuzzi was ok and it is worth using it as you paid for it. TV channels? Due to my limited multilingual abilities you are stuck with french or German channels. But who really cares as you should be out enjoying Geneva. There is a breakfast and dinner area. With free croissants. Oh. Forgot. As a tourist, you get a free travel pass for your length of stay. This is emailed to you after you provide an email address. This is all digital and allows you to take the tram, waterbus, trains, bus, etc for free. This is a welcome benefit from the city. As my brain starts to wind down? What else? Oh. Another bug bear. The switches. I have never been to a hotel or known to find how difficult to use the switches. Haha. There are switches for every light, the shutters, but for some reason it doesn't work first time. Also, the toilet and shower work on a timer so if you go it will stay on for a few minutes then turn off. That's all. Overall, nice experience.

Terrible hotel would not recommend

Avoid this hotel! The location is slap bang in the middle of the red light district for starters with all sorts hanging on the street corners. From the outside the hotel looks like a prison and on first impressions when we arrived the reception floor was dirty and had a bit of a smell. The lift is the smallest I've ever seen, only accommodating 1 person with their suitcase. We had paid for a "deluxe room" which had dirty marks all over a linoleum type flooring. The view out our window was looking onto the back of another block of apartments where you could see right into the bedrooms. It was so bad we didn't even unpack and asked for refund which I have to say they did actually accommodate in full. I am quite surprised at some of the good reviews for this hotel and this is why we booked it but the pictures are like a different hotel. I must say it is close to the train station but there are so many other hotels in the same price bracket which are also closeby but not in this area. My advice would be to avoid this one! A bit disappointed we booked this on booking.com and went by their photos and reviews...big mistake.
